The Cultural Achievement Awards
Each year we celebrate the Cultural Transformation and Sustainability achievements of high performing organisations and these are announced at our Culture & Leadership Conference annually.
Culture Transformation and Sustainability Awards recognise those organisations which have created a Constructive Culture or sustained a Constructive Culture on a subsequent remeasure using the Organisational Culture Inventory® (OCI).
The Constructive Culture Award recognises organisations which have a Constructive Culture on their first measure using the Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI).
All constructive styles are over the 50th percentile, defensive styles are averaging below the 50th percentile and the aim is to sustain or increase constructive expectations along with reductions in defensive expectations.

Constructive Culture Award, 2024
CIP Constructions is a nationally regarded construction company specializing in complex commercial and industrial facilities. With nearly $3b value created for our clients over 15+ years, our staff are professional, knowledgeable and dedicated.
After experiencing strong growth and expansion across Australia and establishing a dedicated P&C department, deeper understanding and analysis of staff behavior was a priority.
Although employee performance was overall positive, clear job descriptions, KPIs and direction was lacking, with a limited vision for our staff and their development. With a goal to create a constructive, supportive and engaging culture, Human Synergistics were engaged, developing a specialised program to ensure tangible and sustained outcomes.

As workplace culture and leadership experts, Dattner Group has  been on a specific mission over the past 2 years to ensure we are practicing what we preach. This has involved a number of strategic initiatives to understand the areas of the business we most need to focus on in order to be effective, constructive and, importantly, sustainable.
Completing the OCI/OEI was the third activity in a series, which included a focus on driving our Achievement orientation, as individuals and in teams, and the co-design of an integrated culture map, that looks at the behaviours we want to stop doing, start doing or do more of, as well as how we consider and practice psychological safety. Finally, we are conducting a sales culture initiative, to ensure that we are elevating the skills, attitudes and behaviours around sales and commercial success to the same level as operational and client services success.
Completing the OCI/OEI helps us to understand how all of these efforts have made a difference in honing our discipline across all parts of our business and has brought us together to be more collaborative and effective in how we help our clients. Naturally (and with great purpose and intention) we all get along very well. The last two years of focus has meant that we do that consciously, and with accountability, not just because we like each other and love our work, but because it means we’re stronger for the long haul.

Newton & Henry, a growing accounting firm, embarked on an ambitious journey to transform its organisational culture. Operating with a staff strength that expanded from 33 to 42 between the years 2021 and 2023, the company recognised the pivotal role culture plays in shaping organisational effectiveness. The firm’s leadership had previously encountered the transformative power of Human Synergistics tools like the Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI), the Organisational Effectiveness Inventory (OEI), and the LifeStyles Inventory (LSI) in another setting. Keen to replicate this success, they initiated a Culture Development Plan for their own enterprise.
Armed with the insights gleaned from the comprehensive pre-assessment stage, Newton & Henry moved into the implementation phase with targeted focus and resolve. This phase was defined by deliberate actions, employee engagement, and an agile approach to achieving well-articulated objectives.
Through a strategically designed and well-executed implementation phase, Newton & Henry was able to actively engage its workforce in building a more constructive and harmonious organisational culture, setting the stage for the remarkable outcomes that followed.
Newton & Henry’s culture transformation is a remarkable success story in organisational development. Spearheaded by dedicated leadership and an inclusive approach that engaged all employees, the company achieved its targeted cultural attributes, as demonstrated by significant improvements in key metrics. The Human Synergistics tools like OCI, OEI, and LSI were instrumental in tracking progress and providing actionable insights.
Newton & Henry plans to build on its successes by further refining job design and emphasising client stories to provide more human context to the work being done. They also aim to enhance their customer service focus without diluting the newly formed HumanisticEncouraging culture.

REA Group is a digital business working to change the way the world experiences property. We know that while our strategy guides us, it is our culture that drives us to deliver outstanding results and impact.
We have always known that our culture is a critical part of who we are and in the last three years we have been intentional about how we invest and grow our culture.
In 2021 we began our mission to understand our current culture and equally define our ideal culture with a clear and measurable goal. Through this approach we saw a transformation in our culture with significant positive shifts in 11 out of 12 factors and with all of our constructive styles being above the global benchmark.
A deliberate focus on naming and developing our culture growth behaviours, ensured we were always focused on our culture goal. We have dedicated ourselves to a top down, bottom up approach to our culture in terms of creating awareness and building cultural competence throughout the organisation so that every person is a culture creator, not simply a culture consumer.
We formed a Culture Squad, created culture programs, pulse checked our culture quarterly, and had a culture dashboard that we reported to the Board on a regular basis to ensure accountability to our goal. We are incredibly proud to be known as the place to be for an amazing culture.

OneHealth was a start-up within a large multi-national pharma company based in Denmark.
It started as a core team of entrepreneurial leaders who were empowered to grow the a division independently of the larger corporate structure, with their own identity and decision making authority. The idea was to build a totally new division to innovate and sell vitamins via a B2C (business to consumer) channel in a largely B2B business.
The OneHealth culture program was designed to nurture and embed the entrepreneurial spirit and venture mindset needed to support rapid growth within the confines of a large multi-national conglomerate.
The program included four major components:
- Leadership assessment of the top 30 leaders using LSI
- Culture assessment using OCI and OEI of the 350+ team members
- An annual 5-day culture immersion for the top 30 leaders to debrief results and set culture plans for all divisions and locations
- Quarterly coaching for top 10 leadership team to deliver on culture plans and leadership change plans.
The program ran for three consecutive years as to support the business as it continued to scale. OneHealth remained a deeply entrepreneurial culture, with its own identity – separate to but aligned with the parent company which at the time was  Novozymes.
