Homeward Bound is a groundbreaking leadership, strategic and science initiative for women, set against the backdrop of Antarctica.

The initiative aims to heighten the influence and impact of women with a science background in order to influence policy and decision making as it shapes our planet.

Launched in 2016, Homeward Bound gathered the first 76 of a targeted 1,000 women from around the world, all with critical science backgrounds, to undertake a year-long state-of-the-art program to develop their leadership and strategic capabilities, using science to build conviction around the importance of their voices. The inaugural program culminated in the largest-ever female expedition to Antarctica, in December 2016, with a focus on the leadership of women and the state of the world.

                   "A leadership outreach initiative for women with a science background"

Human Synergistics is proud to be supporting Homeward Bound Projects (through the use of our leadership and group behaviour diagnostics). We have our own mission to change the world, which is why we believe in their vision to help female scientists fighting for change gain leadership roles, heighten their impact, and to influence policy and decision making as it shapes our planet.

We are delighted to be supporting Homeward Bound for 10 years (sponsor since the first voyage in December 2016), and as part of the program we are donating;

  • Life Styles Inventory’s (LSI) to enhance each participant’s leadership capabilities through their own LSI journey, and to become fully self-aware, and value who they are and what they offer
  • Group Styles Inventory’s and Simulations to help participants work better in teams/groups, to understand the impact of their behaviour, and to become more constructive to increase their effectiveness
  • Plus accompanying resources
