The Culture Transformation Achievement Award

Melbourne Water Logo

Owned by the Victorian Government, Melbourne Water is responsible for the city’s water supply catchments, sewage facilities, waterways and major drainage systems. It is also responsible for providing innovative solutions to the pressing challenges of drought, climate change and metropolitan expansion.

To ensure that Melbourne Water can continue to deliver innovative responses to these challenges and meet community expectations, it was vital that they embrace a Constructive culture in each area of the organisation. This involved not only delivering technical excellence but also focusing on the behaviours required through initiatives such as the Leadership Development Program that reinforced the organisation’s sustainable culture and supported their leaders in being role models of Constructive behaviours.

This transformation has lead to excellent attraction and retention rates, creativity and increased energy in their employees, as well as laying the foundation for a signifi cant increase in their capital program over the next few years.
