The Culture Transformation Achievement Award

Balmain Leagues Club is a ‘not for profit’ organisation, with its revenue distributed back to members through the club’s services and its support and development of rugby league, specifically the Wests Tigers team.

Underpinning the Club’s transformation strategy was a focus on training the Executive Team and Duty Managers in new behaviours and engaging them to develop an adaptable, high performance culture that supported and encouraged constructive thinking and behaviour throughout the Club.

A key outcome for Balmain was its increased ability to adapt to its external environment and manage change. Despite tough external conditions, Balmain Leagues Club has gone from a virtual hand-to-mouth existence to becoming a strategically responsive, thriving organisation.
