Jeff Stirling

Jeff Stirling
National Manager
Telstra Information and Connection Services

I have been with Telstra (or its various predecessors) since early 1961. In those 39 years I have occupied a wide range of tasks at the front line of the business. I have worked closely with people and people management in Telstra since approximately 1980. During that time I held senior positions in the Human Resources area, specialising predominantly in Industrial Relations and Change Management. In 1994, I choose to move to an "operational" area of the business where I had the opportunity to work directly with large staff groups, to gain first hand experience with the value of fostering an "empowered and enlightened" workforce. This was Telstra's Information & Connection Services Group, an area where success is defined by the commitment and ownership taken on by the front line people. Here I have occupied positions of Regional Manager for Queensland, Regional Manager for New South Wales and finally National Manager.

I have a fundamental belief that people want to work to their full potential. Much of my energy in the past six years has been directed towards creating an environment where the personal and institutional barriers to people achieving their full potential are removed and finding the right tools to help me do it.

Her ultimate priority is her family and friends.
