Instrument in Focus Towards Self-Mastery: The Personal Effectiveness Inventory By Matthew Croxford, Human Synergistics International The Personal Effectiveness Inventory (PEI) is a personal development instrument that helps individuals focus on those factors that are related to personal effectiveness, health and well-being. The PEI can provide further invaluable insight into the how individuals think and therefore how they are likely to behave. This tool provides a structured process for uncovering your personal and professional strengths and development opportunities. By assessing an individual's attitudes, beliefs and behaviours in a variety of different situations, the responses collected are used to identify areas of strength and areas in need of development as compared to a representative sample. Why use the PEI? The instrument's purpose is to provide insights into an individuals' beliefs and behaviours and to increase skills for personal effectiveness across a number of key areas. People don't always know the extent to which their behaviours and attitudes impact on their personal effectiveness. The PEI fills this void. Completing the PEI leads individuals to reach a deeper understanding of how they can improve, accomplish more and have more satisfying relationships. The goal is Self-Mastery in work and relationships! Self-Mastery is the achievement of optimal experience from being engaged in a project or relationship that is attainable but challenging. The pursuit of Mastery includes savouring the journey and the work as much as (or more than) the actual goal attainment. The 15 PEI Dimensions
The PEI is not a circumplex-based tool; the PEI's 15 dimensions focus on expanding the Constructive Styles of the circumplex and identifying the characteristics and behaviours of Personal Mastery and effectiveness. The Dimensions provide a more detailed study of Constructive characteristics than the circumplex. The PEI inventory is accompanied by a 70 page interpretation and self-development guide.
